Naplessness.

I've decided I don't like naps. First of all, I have to be all by myself, and I think I'm an extrovert. Second of all, they put me in a crib, and I really like to scootch around rather than being stuck in one little spot. Third of all, they put a crimp in my baby-style! I'm 8 months old for goodness' sake.

I think I'm driving Mommy a little batty. I admit it, I DO get tired. I rub my eyes. I pull my ears. I fuss. My eyelids droop. All the classic signs of being sleepy. But NAPS? NO WAY - that CAN NOT be the answer!

Any advice, other kiddos out there?

Get Out of Jail Free Card

I got myself in a little bit of a pickle the other day! I must've looked super-cute because Mommy took a picture of me BEFORE she rescued me! I love this linoleum floor though, I can slide and scootch so easily.

Me & My Omi

Here I am with my little German Omi just before she went on her daily walk. Actually, she is my Mommy's Omi, but I call her Omi, too! Everyone calls her Omi. She seems so tall to me, but I know she isn't because she's so tiny compared to everyone else I know, especially Uncle Joe. Plus, everytime I see her, she's smaller and I'm bigger!

Omi walks more on one of her walks than I have in my whole LIFE!

Gpa & Briggie

Here I am with my G-Pa and G-Ma Briggie during my last visit. This is early in the morning before G-Pa went to work. I asked him to take me with him but he said my legs were still too short and that I had to stay home and take care of the Women Folk.

Wheels

Hey Peops, I've got wheels! How do you like these wheels? I can't really move much yet, as my legs are just a wee bit short. But I'm ready. Dada called this my Flintstones car!

I decided on a used model, as new ones lose so much resale value the minute you drive them off the lot. What I like about these wheels is the GAS MILEAGE. It's amazing. You oughta get one of these if you are 1) running low on cash for gas money and/or 2) concerned about the environment. Another feature I really like is the 3 tone paint job!

My arms are tired!

We flew home yesterday. Dada asked me if my arms were tired. "OF COURSE Dada! I just flew for 4 hours! Wouldn't YOUR arms be tired, too?" Here I am waiting for my flight in Portland. I was bored and I hadn't even started flying yet. I scored my own seat by fussing when everyone was getting on board. No one wanted to sit with me and Mommy. That's how you do it, kiddos!

Then I ate an Arrowroot Cookie on the plane.

DaDa

I think you should know that I miss you very much! Nobody has a scruffy chin that tickles me just the same as yours and that makes me miss you! No one carries me around like a sack of potatoes in just the same way that you do! No one plays Peek-a-Boo as well, either! So, I really miss you! I especially miss the way you go crazy when I spit up all over the place, too! I love you Dada. I can't wait to play with you on Tuesday!

My Cousins

I got to hang out with my cousins Mikki and Zander this week! On Wednesday, Mommy and I and my Grandma Briggie went with Auntie Martina to pick the kids up from their first day of school. When Zander came out of school he came right over to me and smiled! He asked Mommy if he could push me home in the stroller. I think he was really proud of me because he told everyone we passed, "This is my cousin! His name is EJ! He's 7 months old!" It made me feel proud to have such a great cousin.

Mikki and Zander got me some applesauce at the store. It was cool because they each had a spoon and were both feeding me at once so I got to eat twice as fast as when Mommy feeds me!

Zander's Hippy Rockstar Impersonation

What's so funny about this, is that when Zander wanted to dress up as a Hippy, he put on one of my G-pa's hats. Not someone else's but my G-pa's! Is G-Pa a hippy?

Can't WAIT to be Old Enuf

I can't WAIT to be old enough to play this! This is Mommy & Daddy's favorite game, Cities & Knights, and they like to sneak a game after I fall asleep. It's the age-old story: Have friends over...make Bubby sleepy with milky, rocking, and singing, and then go play without Bubby!

But they're in for a shock! I've been reading the directions...and I'm going to be GOOD after all my months of strategizing! They say I can't play until they're sure I'm not going to choke on the little pieces. HA! They're just SCARED of LOSING to a 7 month old!

Budding Artist

This is my first piece of abstract artwork! Mommy said I did a great job choosing complementary colors and that my textures are phenomenal! I like to call this work "Veggies on Bib & Face". The trick, for those of you aspiring to this kind of fine art, is just to splurt out your food faster than your Mommy can stick it in your mouth. That's all there is to it!
